Why Leg Ulcer & Compression Days?
Lower limb ulcers are a national problem that affects up to 1,5% of the population of the UK. A very large proportion of these ulcers are caused by venous insufficiency.
As a chronic condition, the burden of these wounds can be enormous for patients, care givers as well as the NHS.
The National Wound Care Strategy aims to address this burden by implementing a consistently high standard of evidence-based wound care to optimize patient experiences and outcomes.
This year, our focus will be on the practical implementation of the National Wound Care Strategy along the patient journey.
